Technical requirements analysis of rolls

Regardless of hot rolling or cold rolling, the rolling phase is a direct tool for achieving metal deformation during the rolling process. Therefore, the quality of the rolls is strict. Its main quality requirements are strength, hardness, heat resistance and durability. Rolling strength is the most basic indicator. While meeting the strength requirements, it must also have a certain impact toughness. In order to make the roll have sufficient strength, it is mainly considered from selecting the material of the roll and determining the reasonable roll structure and the sound. Whether the roll strength is sufficient or not can be determined according to the roll strength calculation.
Hardness usually refers to the hardness of the working surface of the roll and is also the main quality indicator of the roll. It determines the wear resistance of the rolls and determines the service life of the rolls to a certain extent. The hardness of the rolls can be met by the choice of materials and some heat treatment of the roll surface. In addition, for the hot roll, it should also have a certain heat resistance to ensure the accuracy of the rolled product, and also determine the service life of the roll.

With the development of rolling technology and fierce competition in the market, the technical requirements for rolls are getting more and more south. Increasing the service life of the rolls can reduce the production cost of the product. For the roll of the strip mill, higher requirements are placed on the surface quality of the rolls.

The nominal diameter D of the rolling mill of the roughing mill and the key rolling mill is both the main parameter of the rolling mill and the main parameter of the rolling mill size. When the diameter D of the roll is determined, other parameters of the roll are also limited by strength, stiffness or structural constraints.

The roll body of the roughing mill and the section rolling mill is perforated, so the nominal diameter of the rolls should have a definite meaning. Usually, the profile mill is based on the center distance of the gear base as the nominal diameter of the roll; the toughness mill uses the outer diameter of the roll ring as the nominal diameter.

Therefore, a perforated roll has a nominal diameter greater than its working diameter. In order to avoid the hole groove cutting too deep, the ratio of the nominal diameter of the roll to the working diameter is generally not more than 1.4.

The roll working diameter can be based on the maximum bite angle. And the strength requirements of the roller are determined.

The calculated roll diameter is converted into the nominal diameter of the roll, which should meet the national standard for the series of tough rolling mills and section mills. China's initial rolling mill series has 750, 850, 1150JL species; horizontal steel rolling hunger has 4500/300, 4650b 4800 and so on.
